copyright on photographs (some pointers)

got this from my online buddy here in multiply.

"-I know this blog will help newbie photographers in multiply, to be aware on things they should know on COPYRIGHTS ON PHOTOGRAPHS.

DISCLAIMER:

-I don't mean anything....i don't wanna argue regarding this, just for everyone's AWARENESS!
-I don't want others see me as, NAGMAMAGALING or that i KNOW TOO MUCH! i wanna be friends with everyone!
-im JUST SHARING!

here it is......

Copyright - defined as the exclusive right/s of an author to the work of his authorship. It includes the right to carry our or prevent the display, sale, transfer or reproduction of one's work.

REPUBLIC ACT 8293, otherwise known as The Intellectual Property Code of the Philippines, clearly provides that original creations of photographic works and works produced by a process analogous to photography are covered by copyright.

-The transfer or sale of the sole copy of the work does not necessarily imply transfer of the copyright, in the absence of clear intention to the contrary.

As a rule, COPYRIGHT belongs to the author of the work/ PHOTOGRAPHER OF A PHOTOGRAPH.

The photographer has the sole right, AMONG THE OTHERS.EVEN PAID.(even on TV shows and movies! YOU WILL ALWAYS SEE THE DIRECTOR OF PHOTOGRAPHY as a CREDIT)he/she has the right to require that authorship of the work should be attributed to him/her.

remember........
YOU OWN IT!"
