psalms 6

psalms 6:2 - have mercy upon me, O Lord; for I am weak: O Lord, heal me; for my bones are vexed.

nosebleed ako. an lalim nung english.. hehehehe... so for another look. i browsed my new king james version. (O Lord heal me for my bones are troubled.)

and looking at my new king james bible, the title of this song's chapter is "A prayer of faith in time of distress"

then also read, To the Chief Musician . With stringed instruments. On an eight stringed harp. A psalm of david.

- meaning when david sang this psalm, he is playing with a harp and he is troubled.

how many times do we feel weak? how many times we think that we cannot do anything because we are powerless? we cannot... and so we are down. we have no strength.

i too felt this a few weeks ago. i felt that i cannot do anything on my situation. i have financial concerns and i tried to do a solution on my own. i tried to look for another job. tried to sell my stocks. to withdraw my savings from the company.

but then, God's way is different. He reminds me that "Hey kid, I will provide, I will not leave you, will not forsake you. ;)".

and so, my financial concerns were answered and that I believed that God will be there for me in the coming months. He will provide me all the things that I need.

as to answer the prayer of David, read verse 9 which says "The Lord hath heard my supplication; the Lord will receive my prayer".

Lessons learned.
1. when we feel we are weak, there is a God whom we can turn to.
2. we pray
3. believe that God will heal us, will answer all our prayers.

Thank you Lord for this wonderful psalm written by David, the man close to your heart. :D

fifth

a yeah... the psalm again... ok [deadma]...

hehehe.. if you came across to a passage in the bible... would you say?

1. ... ah... yeah... that again... nah... i'll look for another blog...
2. ok. bible again.
3. so religious...
4. hahahaha...
5. sus...
6. hindi bagay...
7. duh!? haller? are you drugs?
8. sabog ka ba?
9. nakainom ka noh?
10. ok ka lang?

ok. still... as long as i can. i will write about this... when will i stop blogging this book of psalms? i dont know.. kapag tinamad na? kapag pagod na? or kapag busy na sa kung anu anong bagay...

so habang hindi pa... here's another entry...

"give ear to my words, o LORD; consider my meditations." - psalms 5:1

for this chapter... this is the thing that strikes me the most...

when we pray, do we believe that God is really hearing our prayers? do we say... can God still hear me? eh ang dami dami namin nangyayari...

naririnig nya kaya ako? oks lang ba makipagusap sa kanya? will he consider my meditations?

well... according to the scriptures... this psalm/song is about a person, asking God... communicating with God... to hear his prayers...

i remembered one person said... "ni hindi ko nga alam kung pano makipag usap sa kanya... kaya hindi ako nagdadasal..."

for me, to pray is to converse with God... to communicate with Him... to fellowship with Him... how can we know the message of God? by reading His words. :D

yeah.. this is my personal prayer
- give ears to my words o LORD; consider my meditations. :D

psalm 4

"but know that the Lord hath set apart him that is godly for himself: the LORD will hear when i call unto him." - psalms 4:3

yesterdays sermon is to live an uncommon life... uncommon... meaning to live a holy life...

it is uncommon, because in leviticus, there is an instructions to the israelites for them to distinguish what is holy and common, what is clean and unclean... so therefore... the opposite of common is holy... :D

being holy is also instructed by God. for He is holy... what is holy?

mistakenly... people think of holy as being someone who is wearing a white dress or something... but the truth is... being holy is to be set apart... not living the life like what the common people does...

it is a challenge for us... to live an uncommon life.. to be holy...

another thing with the verse is that... God will hear us when we call unto Him..
He hears our prayers... :D

3rd of psalms

v5 - I laid me down and slept; I awaked; for the LORD sustained me.

time to sleep. time to take a rest. for tomorrow is another day. another new challenges and another time to work. :D

for after we slept. God will renew our strengths for us to survive a new day...

goodbye... good night...

sunday

psaLm 2

"...blessed are they that put their trust in him." - psalms 2.12b

yes. this is true.

enough said.

a psaLm a day

yeah. starting today. till i finish this book. (hopefully).

will start to meditate the book of psalms. dont worry. wont be posting the whole verses in the bible.

when i met people. and when they knew that my name is armando psalms. here are some of their reactions..
- ah, the book in the bible? [yep]
- so what's your sister's name? [genesis and mark]
- have you read it? [most of it. but not all]
- do you memorized it? [hello? hahaha. too many verses to memorize. but yeah i do know some of the chapters]
- it's not on you... hindi bagay sa yo yung name... [ok]
- holy ka cguro.... [uh? heLLo?]
- ah, ok. you must be religious... [nope. i'm not]
- and so on... and so on...

yeah. so basically. a bad person i am. kakatapos ko lang uminom. 3 bottles of san mig light. finished by 3.30am. but yeah. i'm still awake 5.04am already. and we have a Aperturista GA today. meeting place is mcdo quezon ave. 7am. oh... what. hahaha.. and still cant sleep.. hahaha... gudlak...

then i went to the CR. and when i'm goin back to my room.. dad gave me a new bible. hahaha. thankful naman ako. king james version. always the version that i love. hindi nasanay sa ibang version ng bible. always this one. eto daw kasi yung isa sa mga unang version. kung baga sa software. version 1.0. or version 2.0..... hehehehe... la lang. so sempre... basahin... ibinigay eh...

isa lang ibig sabihin nun... magbasa daw ako ng bible.... hihihihi...

okies. so yeah... back to our topic. which a psalm a day... so i'll make it to a point to read a chapter in psalms. then the verse that will struck me the most... will be posted and i will give lessons that i learned... bLog ko to... so kung ayaw nyo nung lessons learned ko... gawa kayo ng sariLi nyong bLog... hehehehe..

okies.

so to start. Psalms 1 sempre.. pag binabalak kong magbasa... umpisahan ko sa psalms 1. so yun... eto na naman uLit ako...

here. it says. blessed is the man that walked not in the counsel of the ungodly nor standeth in the way of the sinners, nor sitteth in the seat of the scornful...and so on... and so on...

this is the first chapter... so the psalmist started the book right... with saying that... blessed are those who keep their paths straight.... righteous... not doing what the sinners do....

and the verse that i will discuss is the verse 6. for the Lord knoweth the way of the righteous; but the way of the ungodly shall perish...

righteous... according to mareng meriam at kay pareng webster... and righteous daw ay - acting in accord with divine or moral law : free from guilt or sin

hmmmmm..... at hmm... uLit... nosebLeed ako... well.... ayun sa aking pagkakaintindi... and pagiging righteous is to do the things right in the eyes of God...

reflection: am i doing the right thing? or even if i knew that it is wrong already... i still keep doing it..... tsk1000000x [antz expression].... hahaha..

keLan ba dapat itigiL ang paggawa ng maLi? or keLan dapat ipagpatuLoy ang paggawa ng tama [right] in the eyes of God....

it's my refLection... hope you'll have time to refLect on yourselves too....

i'LL repeat myseLf... i'm not that gooody gooody gooody.... but yeah... i'm not that too bad naman....

so much for that.... Looking forward to another psalm. :D

Lord knows your ways [righteous], the way of the ungodly shall perish....

think about it... ;)

From : Langford’s Advance Photography 7th Edition

Amateur

People often describe themselves as ‘only’ amateurs, as if apologizing for this status. After all,the word amateurish suggests the second rate. However, amateur simply means that you earnyour living doing something else. Do not assume that amateur photography must always beinferior to professional photography. Each requires an attitude of mind which differs in severalways – but is not necessarily ‘better’ or ‘worse’. As an amateur, you may envy the professional, wishing you could combine business with pleasure into a kind of full-time hobby, using professional equipment and facilities. However, the professional knows that much of the hidden advantage of being amateur is the freedom you have to shoot what and when you like. You can develop your own ideas – experiment in approach, subject and technique – without much concern over how long any of this might take. You can be self-indulgent. (Throughout the history of photography many amateurs have been the visual innovators, such as Julia Margaret Cameron, Paul Strand, Ralph Eugene Meatyardand Jacques-Henri Lartigue.) As an amateur, you can work for an exhibition or a competition of your choice – or just for yourself or family. You can also enjoy the equipment and techniques as a refreshing change from your daily work. On the other hand, you lack the pressure of deadlines, the challenge of commissions and commercial competition to keep you on your toes. It is easy to become complacent or set targets too low to be much of a challenge. After all, the world is not bounded by the judge’s view ofphotography at the local camera club. If you want to take your hobby seriously, you should find the time to keep yourself aware of trends by looking at published photographs and visiting galleries. In this way you can widen your knowledge of how different people use photography to express ideas and communicate information.

Professional

A professional photographer must be reliable. He or she also needs financial and organizational skills, just as much as visual and technical expertise, in order to stay in business. People rely on you as a professional to produce some sort of result, always. Failure does not simply mean youreceive no fee – most work is commissioned, so you have let someone down. A client’s moneyinvested in models, props, special locations, etc. is thrown away, a publication deadline may bemissed or an unrepeatable event remains undocumented. You therefore have to ensure – as far as humanly possible – that everything in the chainbetween arriving to shoot and presenting the finished work functions without fail. You need tobe an effective organizer of people, locations, transport, etc., able to make the right choice oftime and day, and, of course, arrive punctually yourself. You must be able to anticipate hold-ups and avoid them. As a last resort, you should know how to act if a job has to be abandoned or re-shot. Pressures of this kind are both a worry and a stimulus – but, of course, they make a successful result all the more worth while. Working professionally also means that you have to produce results at an economical speedand cost. You must think of overheads such as rent and taxes, and equipment depreciation, as wellas direct costs such as photographic materials and fuel. It is seldom possible to linger longingly over a job as if it was a leisure occupation. You also need to know how to charge – how to cost outa commission accurately and balance a reasonable profit margin against client goodwill (will theycome again?), bearing in mind the competition and the current going rate for the job. Equipment is no more or less than a set of tools from which you select the right ‘spanner’for the picture you have in mind. Every item must give the highest quality results but also berugged and reliable – vital gear may need duplicate backup. The cost of fouling up an assignment because of equipment failure can be greater than the photographic equipment itself, so it is a false economy to work with second-rate tools. You must know too when to invest in new technology, such as digital gear, and what is best to buy.

One of the challenges of professional work is to make interesting, imaginative photographs within the limitations of a dull commercial brief. For example, how do you make a strong pictureout of a set of ordinary plastic bowls – to fill an awkward-shaped space on a catalogue page? Eventually, you should be able to refuse the more dead-end work, but at first you will need every commission you can find. In the same way, you must learn how to promote yourself and build up a range of clients who provide you with the right subject opportunities and freedom to demonstrate your ways of seeing, as well as income. Another relatively open way of working is to freelance as a supplier of pictures for stock libraries. Photography is still one of the few occupations in which you can create and make things as a one-person business or department. It suits the individualist – one reason why the great majority of professional photographers are self-employed. There is great personal satisfaction ina job which demands daily use of visual and technical skills.

‘Independent’

Photography does not just divide neatly into amateur and professional categories. After all, it isa medium – of communication, expression, information, even propaganda – and as such can be practised in hundreds of different ways. You can shoot pictures purely to please yourself and developyour style; for example, working for one-person exhibitions, books and sponsored projects, awards and scholarships. It is possible to build up a national or international reputation in this way if your photography is good enough. You can sell pictures through galleries or agents as works of art. To begin with at least most of these so-called ‘independent’ photographers make their living from another occupation such as teaching, writing or some other kind of photographically related full- or part-time job. Independent photography relies on the growing number of galleries, publications and industrial and government sponsors of the arts interested in our medium. In this, photography follows long established patterns in painting, poetry, music, etc. Ifyou are sufficiently motivated, then working for yourself free of commercial pressures can leadto exciting avant-garde results. Some independent photographers work for political or otherideological beliefs. Outlets here include pressure groups, trade unions, charities, arts centres, local community associations, specialist publishing houses and archives. It is one of the greatstrengths of photography that so many of these options are open to be explored.

be stiLL

"Be still, and know that I am God: I will be exalted among the nations, I will be exalted in the earth." Psalms 46:10

lately i've been very busy on work, photography and on finding where to get an ample amount of money for my financial concerns.

sold my this and that, withdrawn something and that... well... basically... doing my own thing.. my way... my own strategy... my own.... mine.. mine.. mine...

but that just leave me to be stressed out... to worry more... to be at the point where in i'm looking for another job... another company with a high paying salary... wether here or abroad... can be content with the amount of money i'm getting now...

but when looking at it... i still can't figure out where will i get this or that... damn... i'm so stupid... i'm powerless... i cannot do anything about it...

then friday comes... there it is... one by one.. i am realizing that truly... God will provide for His children... even though super pasaway akong anak... hehehe.. yeah... truly.. God is amazing...

just this sunday in the church. this is the topic. "uncommon God"... yeah... our God is holy... uncommon.. amazing.. great and yeah.. He is God...

just as the pastor said...

"you are God, i am not..."

how many times do we take charge? how many times do we say to ourselves that. hey. i can do this. i can do that. but in the end. we cannot.... we fail... and right there... we do not... because. still God makes a way... saving us... from shame... from everything...

just want to share.

i'm not that super duper goody goody guy... but hey. i have a relationship with my God. and every now and then. i have this checkpoints. realizations. that yeah. we can do nothing without Him...

just that....

what to do next?

if you are not promoted, will you stay?
if you are not happy with what you are doing, will you stay?
if you have financial concerns and it is not enough here, will you stay?
if you feel you are betrayed, will you stay?
